GoI Approves 28000 Crore Industrial Package for J&K; Good News In Coming Days Regarding 4G: Lt Governor J&K Manoj Sinha

Jammu 7 January (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced GoI approved Rs 28400 Crore “Industrial Development Package-2021” for the UT’s industrial development, investments and job creation. He also informed that there will good news for the people of the valley in coming days regarding 4G internet services.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu today, Lt Governor said that the Union Cabinet yesterday, sanctioned the massive ‘Industrial Development Package-2021’ for Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial sector, which will ensure and provide a huge boost to it.

He said that the package aims to setting up new units, creating 4.5 lakh jobs and at least 20,000 Crore investments, adding that the package will remain in force for 17 years, i.e till 2037.

He further said that the package is a historic move and will provide a boost to industrial sector in J&K as well as ensure Job creation and pave way for outside investments.

As per Lt Governor the industrial package will cover the manufacturing units as well as the service sector including the Tourism and IT sector.

He also said that every village in Jammu and Kashmir will have better road connectivity and assured that in 2023 people will be travelling in Metro for the first time.

Regarding the 4G restoration, Manoj Sinha told Media that he is aware about the fact that 4G is working in only two districts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and that there is a committee examining the issue.

He added that good news will be coming soon regarding 4G restoration in UT.

Pertinently, 2G Internet services were restored in UT Jammu and Kashmir in January 2020 after the mobile Internet services were suspended following the abrogation of Article 370 by the BJP led government in August 5 2019, but the high-speed Internet continues to remain blocked. (KNB)
