Shopian 14 April (KNB): Four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Badigam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday, the police said
According to news agency KNB, four Militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Badigam Zainapora Village of Shopian district, The slains were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit.

Earlier, on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area, joint team had launched a cordon and search operation in the Badigam area.
The joint team of security forces was reportedly fired upon by the militants during the search operation. This triggered a gunfight, the police said.
However, in a related incident, Two Army soldiers were killed and four injured when the vehicle (Tata Sumo) they were traveling turned turtle in Kanipora village of Shopian. The 44 RR soldiers were on their way to the encounter site. The injured soldiers were shifted to 92 base Army hospital.(KNB)
