Shopian 22 March (KNB): Four Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit militants have been killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Shopian following the searches carried by the police and forces in its Manihal area.

Police on Monday had first confirmed the killing of two unidentified militants in the early morning. They then further confirmed the killing of the third and fourth militant in its two separate official announcements.

Police today in this regard said that “01 more unidentified militant killed (Total 04), affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT.”

However, police further said that incriminating materials including arms & ammunition have been recovered and the searches are going on. 

It is pertinent to mention that the gunfight broke out between the forces and militants after the cordon and searches were carried in the area following the inputs about the presence of militants. (KNB)
