Srinagar 18 May (KNB): A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta breathed his last in Jammu on Tuesday morning.
87 years old Gupta–who has remained Minister of State Defence–had recovered from novel coronavirus but passed away due to post Covid-19 complications, sources said.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his condolences over the passing away of the former Union Minister and said that his demise is a great loss to the political sphere.
“Deeply pained to hear about the passing away of Former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta ji. A seasoned politician & a widely respected public figure, his demise is a great loss to the political sphere,” Lt Governor said.
“He will always be remembered for his immense contribution towards welfare of the people. My condolences to his family and friends,” LG Manoj Sinha added. (KNB)
