Dept. is washing its hands of our appointments by saying they had mistakenly referred the posts, candidates allege

Srinagar 14 January (KNB): Scores of candidates selected for the post of Compiler in the Finance Department of J&K on Friday alleged that the department had not appointed them for the post to date.
One of the candidates who has been selected for the post of Compiler in the Finance Department said that the examination for the post was conducted by JKSSB in 2017, with its result declared in November 2021. “But till now, the Finance Department has not issued appointment orders for the candidates who have been selected for the post of Compiler despite the selection list sent by JKSSB to the concerned department on 30-11-2021,” said the candidate.
The candidates said that they have been waiting to get selected for the Compiler post since 2015, when they had applied for it. They further said their selection process was the protracted one, but they never lost hope of getting selected for the post because of their sheer hard work.
On questioning the candidates whether they had approached the Finance Department after a delay in their appointment orders for the post, they said that the department is categorically telling them they (the candidates) cannot be appointed as “there are no recruiting rules for the post”.
One of the candidates alleged that the Finance Department is washing its hands of their appointments by saying that “they had mistakenly referred their posts (to the recruiting agency)”. The candidates also said that the Finance Department carved out the posts for the Compiler, and “it is unthinkable how they could trample over our dreams by giving an excuse which is not justifiable.”
Reinforcing the claims of the candidates, a recommendation letter sent by JKSSB to Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, J&K on 30-11-2021, which reads, “Consequent upon the receipt of indent/requisition furnished by Finance Department vide No. FD/Coord/149/2007-II dated 07.08.2015, for the post of “Compiler” (Finance Department) District Cadre, Srinagar, the advertisement notification in respect of said post was issued by the Board vide Notification No 06 of 2015 dated 01.09.2015 under Item No. 452…”
The letter also reads, “the selection list prepared, in light of the criteria adopted by the Board under relevant rules and on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates, was approved by the Board in its 192nd meeting held on 21.11.2021, and is hereby forwarded…”
However, the candidates said they had been selected for the post after following a due recruiting process and appealed to the concerned department and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to redress the issue. (KNB)
