Srinagar 12 August (KNB): An encounter has started between security forces and militants in South Kashmir Kulgam’s Mir Bazar area on Thursday afternoon after an attack was carried out by militants on BSF convoy on National Highway, said IGP K Vijay Kumar.
The encounter started after a BSF convoy was attacked by militants lurking around Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Kulgam.
However, following the attack, the militants were responded from the other end with fires, which triggered the encounter in the area as the militants got trapped, said IGP-K.
IGP also said that no injury was reported during the attack on BSF convoy. He further said that more reinforcement was sent to the spot. (KNB)
