Pulwama 26 October (KNB): A gun-battle broke out between militants and security forces in Noorpora area, in which one militant has been killed so far.
Officials have confirmed that one unidentified militant has been killed so far in the on-going encounter in Awantipora belt in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Earlier an Official stated that a joint team of Police, army’s 42 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
Official said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
The official has not confirmed the number of militants trapped in the on going encounter. (KNB)
