Srinagar 09 March (KNB): Encounter broke out in Tujjar area of North Kashmir’s Sopore on Tuesday evening in which one militant has been killed as per reports.
The encounter started after the searches were carried by a joint team of Police and Army on Tuesday evening in the area where the presence of militants was suspected.
However, the gunfight broke out after the holed up militants fired upon the forces who were trying to zero in on the spot where the militants were present.
Pertinently, the police tweeted that “Encounter has started at Tujjar area of Sopore Police and Army are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
Furthermore, Police also tweeted while confirming the killing of one militant that “#SoporeEncounterUpdate: 01 unidentified militant killed. Incriminating materials including #arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow.” (KNB)
