Srinagar 07 June (KNB): During the extraction of sand from the river Jhelum this morning, a local youth drowned in South Kashmir’s Kakapora area of Pulwama.
The incident took place when the youth was extracting sand and lost his balance, most probably had slipped, and resulted in his disappearance into the Jhelum water.
As per an official, the youth has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad, a resident of Hayatpora area of Chadoora. The youth is believed to be dead after being drowned into the river.
However, the process of recovering the body of the youth has been initiated. (KNB)
