Dr Darakhshan Andrabi Visits Babareshi Shrine, Inaugurates New Facilities

Srinagar, 25 October (KNB): The Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi undertook a visit to the sacred shrine of Baba Payam-ud-din Reshi (RA) located in Babarishi Tangmarg today.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB said, Dr Andrabi paid her respects at the shrine and presided over a special program organized by the J&K Waqf Board within the shrine’s campus.

During the event, students of Waqf High School Hajibal Tangmarg delighted the attendees with a captivating cultural program. A significant crowd of locals gathered to witness the proceedings. Dr. Andrabi took the opportunity to inaugurate the newly established Modern Community Kitchen Complex and the Utility-cum-Sanitary Complex. The construction of these facilities began several months ago under her initiative.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Andrabi expressed the commitment of the J&K Waqf Board to enhancing facilities and addressing the needs of shrines across the region.

She noted, “Previously, various government departments were responsible for the construction and renovation of utility structures at shrines. However, with increased transparency in financial matters, we can now utilize Waqf resources to take up renovation and construction projects at shrines throughout Jammu & Kashmir.”

Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi also shared that a modern Dining Hall is currently under construction and will soon be available for pilgrims.

She issued instructions to the Waqf Board officers to initiate new projects within the shrine complex, further enhancing the amenities and experience for visitors.

The visit and inaugural event marked another significant step in the ongoing efforts to improve the shrine facilities across Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring a more comfortable and enriching experience for devotees. Statement further added-KNB
