DGP’s Visit Marks a Day of Public Darbar in Doda

Doda, April 17(KNB): In a significant outreach initiative, Shri R.R. Swain, IPS, Director-General of Police (DGP) for Jammu & Kashmir, conducted a day-long visit to Doda, where he led a public Darbar and grievance redressal program at the District Police Lines (DPL) Doda.

Upon his arrival at DPL, DGP Swain received a warm reception from senior officials including DIG DKR Range, Shri Shridhar Patil, IPS, DC Doda Harvinder Singh, IAS, SSP Doda, Shri Javaid Iqbal – JKPS, and other officers from various wings of the District Police.

A poignant moment of the visit was when DGP Swain laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ memorial, paying homage to the fallen heroes of the police force.

The public interaction and grievance redressal program chaired by DGP Swain saw an overwhelming turnout, with a large number of attendees from diverse regions such as Gandoh, Dessa, Assar, Marmat, and Bhaderwah. Participants included families of police martyrs, serving police personnel, and citizens, who presented their grievances directly to the DGP.

DGP Swain attentively listened to the concerns raised and assured participants of timely resolution of legitimate issues. He emphasized the department’s commitment to increasing the frequency of such programs at various levels to ensure effective redressal of public complaints.

Highlighting the core mission of the police, DGP Swain stated, “Our primary aim is to deliver justice, which inherently involves discerning right from wrong.” This statement underscores the department’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and serving the community with integrity.
