Srinagar 29 May (KNB): Director General CRPF Kuldeep Singh has been given the additional charges of DG National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday as the Y C Modi NIA’s chief is to be retired on May 31, as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
As per the MHA, Singh will hold the additional charge of NIA Chief until the appointment and joining of Y C Modi’s successor or the issuing of further orders.
Singh is 1986 batch IPS officer of West Bengal cadre and was appointed in this year’s March as DG CRPF.
The MHA’s order read “Consequent upon superannuation of Y C Modi, IPS (AM:84) Director General, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on 31-05-2021, the competent authority has approved that Kuldeep Singh, IPS (WB:84) Director General CRPF shall hold additional charge of the post of DG, NIA vice Y C Modi, IPS (AM:84) till the appointment and joining of the successor or until further orders whichever is earlier.” (KNB)
