Despite ban, Illegal construction rampant on agricultural land in Srinagar outskits

Srinagar December 27(KNB): Self-propelled elements carrying influence of Governor rule are using hundreds of hectares of fertile agrcultural land  for constructional purposes in Pratapgadh, Amargadh, and Panzi Nahra areas  of district Baramulla and Bandipora, just 10 Km away from Srinagar .Besides the total  ban on the construction on agricultural land by the court, number of the trucks are plying in the area for filling the agricultural land.

Residents of the appeals the chief Justice of the high  court to intervene into the matter and bring the the culprits who did not follow the court orders.

Pertinently, the order was issued  by the high court to stop construction on the agricultural but unfortunately, some self-determination persons are taking  advantage of the situation and are constantly filling agricultural and rice lands for construction purposes.

As per locals, “a vast fertile area located near shaltang road in Panzi Nahra has been converted into concrete colony under a project and yet again a new project of construction is being started. It has become possible due to lack of administration and non-focusness government.”

According to the delegation, when talked to the person who had illegally filled the land, he said that it is his own proprietary land and District Administrative has adopted a permissible letter for this, but the people Rejecting this claim  said that the court has imposed ban on the agricultural area, where the consent of the property has collapsed.

The local residents demanded the court to stop the work, terming it as” mafia” an impartial trial.

The court should assume that the land should be examined by the intentions of the departments, and the other entities and those who violate the law should be brought to the craft. (KNB)
