Srinagar 6 March (KNB): Parveez Ahmad Qadri Deputy Mayor, Srinagar along with several Corporators of SMC conducted a meeting with Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division Srinagar/other Officers/Officials of the Urban Forestry Division at Sheikh Bagh Lal Chowk Srinagar to discuss measures related to the plantation drive in the Srinagar City.
A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that during deliberations on the subject the Deputy Mayor Srinagar stressed to start a plantation drive in the Srinagar City, so that the dream of Green Srinagar is achieved besides to decrease the effect of air pollution in the City.
Deputy Mayor Srinagar asked the Corporators to identify vacant spots within their respective Ward jurisdictions to initiate process of plantation at these identified spots so that the same is completed before 15th April-2021.
Qadri also desired to start plantation drive from Srinagar Municipal Corporation Head Quarter Karan Nagar Srinagar on 9th March and in this behalf a function shall be organized at Central Office.
