Srinagar Municipal Corporation is continuing with the demolition drives in various parts of the city.
Srinagar 17 October (KNB): The Enforcement wing conducted demolitions in Batpora, Rangpora, Soura, and various other areas, such as Ahmad Nagar (ward 15) and Safa Kadal (ward 18).
An official said that the Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali takes weekly reviews of the work done by Enforcement wing which is headed by Chief Enforcement Officer Sofi Akbar.
Gazanfar Ali said that he is conducting visits at the sites where constructional activities are taking place, in order to check the factual accuracy of the details and demolition reports submitted by the concerned Enforcement Wing.
SMC Commissioner confirmed that a communication group of concerned officers including enforcement officials and ward officers have been created to seek immediate response on complaints of gross violations and illegal structures in the city.He added that the officials have been repeatedly directed to immediately stop work of all those structures at a very initial stage, which deviate from the sanctioned building plans and act promptly against those structures coming up without permission.
