Srinagar 01 June (KNB): A road stretch from Aloosa main Ghat to Balnipora in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been in dilapidated condition for almost a decade, as the authorities are not paying any heed.
The road has developed huge potholes for almost a decade, thus adding to the miseries of the people.
“The road connects several villages, but the condition of it is so bad that we are finding it hard to commute. It has now been almost ten years since we are suffering due to the bad condition of the road,” a local from the area said.
However, the locals also said that the road’s pathetic condition with no drainage is a nightmare during the rainy season. “The waterlogging also could be avoided if there would have been proper drainage constructed with the repairing of the road, ” another local said, adding that it is a basic necessity they have been deprived of.
On contacting Exen PMGSY Bilal Reshi regarding the issue, he assured that repairing of the road would be done this year.
On questioning him why the road was not repaired for so long, Reshi said that some land issues forced them to keep it on hold. He further said that around three Kms of the road ahead of Ketsan would also be completed.
“At Aloosa Ghat, the repairing would also be started, which last time was stopped by locals given its closeness to Wular Lake,” Reshi added. (KNB)
