J&K 1 December (KNB): As people have come out to cast their votes during second phase of District Development Council Elections 2020 in Kashmir Division and hilly areas of Jammu Division, 6.61 per cent votes were recorded till 9 am.
The elections are being held for the first time for electing representatives to the District Development Councils in the UT.
43 constituencies are going under polling in the second phase of DDC elections including 25 constituencies in Kashmir division and 18 in Jammu division.
As per official reports, in Kashmir Division, Kupwara has voting percentage of 3.54 per cent, Bandipora 15.56 per cent, Baramulla per cent, Ganderbal 2.44 per cent, Srinagar 8.33 per cent, Budgam 2.09 per cent, Pulwama 0.71 per cent, Shopian 2.11 per cent, Kulgam 1.89 per cent, Anantnag 4.47 per cent upto 9.00 am.
Similarly, in Jammu division Kishtwar has voting percentage of 8.49 per cent, Doda 9.08 per cent, Ramban 6.39 per cent, Reasi 10.90 per cent, Udhampur 9.26 per cent, Kathua 10.45 per cent, Samba 17.27 per cent, Jammu 9.80 per cent, Rajouri 9.06 per cent and Poonch 13.49 per cent upto 9 am.
Official records concluded that Kashmir division has polling percentage of 3.23 per cent and Jammu division has 10.36 per cent voter turnout, that is, overall 6.61 per cent voters have casted their votes upto 9 am. (KNB)
