CRPF Man Injured in Pulwama Attack

Pulwama 18 September (KNB):A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier was injured after militants attacked his camp in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, the militants hurled a grenade and fired at the camp of 183 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Newa village earlier today. However, the grenade didn’t explode and the injury caused to the soldier resulted due to the shootout. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area after the attack to nab the militants.

Pertinently, with the panchayat and local body elections round the corner, the Director-General of Police, Dilbag Singh, on September 12 ordered top police officers to outline fool proof security arrangements for conduct of the elections in the state.

It is important to mention here that  some unknown persons yesterday tried to set ablaze panchayat building in south Kashmir’s Tral.  However, only two windows were reported damaged in the incident. Police is investigating the incident. (KNB)
