Srinagar 15 January (KNB): In wake of the spurt in Covid19 cases and detection of Omicron variant cases in J&K, the UT administration has ordered for measures to be implemented to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
The decision to impose the fresh measures in order to prevent the spread of Covid19 came after a meeting was held by officials/officers on Friday. In the meeting, besides other measures, it was decided that there would be a complete restriction on non-essential movement in the entire J&K during weekends.
It was also said that all Colleges, Schools, Polytechnics, ITIs, Coaching Centres for Civil Services/Engineering/NEET etc. would adopt online medium of teaching and no in-person teaching to be conducted. “A maximum number of people permitted to attend any indoor/outdoor gathering shall be strictly restricted to 25,” said an order.
It was also said that night curfew would remain in force in all districts from 9 pm to 6 am with complete restriction on non-essential movement. “There shall be renewed focus on Panchayat Level/Medical Block mapping of cases and effective micro-containment zones shall be constituted wherever the number of Covid19 positive cases reaches 3 or above,” the order added.
Besides the above stated measures, the order also mentioned about the measures to be implemented in J&K akin to the ones seen during Ist and Second waves. (KNB)
