Cold Wave Persist Across Kashmir, Srinagar Records -5.6° C

Srinagar 28 January (KNB): The cold wave in Kashmir valley continues to persist with Srinagar recording -5.6°C on Wednesday night after the -2.0°C in summer capital on Tuesday night. 

As per MeT, Srinagar recorded -5.6°C with the other districts also continuing to record temperature subzero last night making the cold waves persist throughout Kashmir.

However, the MeT has predicted the weather to remain dry until January 31 with the wet spell on the 2nd and 3rd of next month.

The temperatures recorded across Kashmir valley last night was -10.5°C in Qazigund, -2.2°C in Kupwara, -10.7°C in Kokernag, -12.3°C in Pahalgam, -13.4°C in Gulmarg while the Leh recorded -14.8°C.

Pertinent to mention that Kashmir is going through a period of a first and major part of Chillai Kalan of 40 days, ending on January 31 while Chillai Khurd and Chillai Bachha of 20 and 10 days respectively will follow from next month. (KNB)
