Cold Conditions Persist Across Valley, Coldest Night in Srinagar

Srinagar 10 December (KNB): Cold conditions persist across the valley as the temperature plummets in different places of J&K, with summer capital Srinagar recording the coldest night of this winter season at minus 2.6 degrees C. 

As per MeT’s daily parameter register, Srinagar’s temperature last night dipped further after some respite seen days ago in the cold as the temperature was hovering close to minus 1 degrees C.   

While replicating Srinagar’s experience, the cold conditions are also intensifying in other places of Kashmir. In North Kashmir’s tourist resort Gulmarg, the temperature last night was recorded at -6.0 degrees C and in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam, the temperature settled at -5.9 degrees C.

As per official data, temperatures in other parts of the valley recorded last night were as minus -2.4 degrees celsius in Qazigund, minus 1.4 degrees celsius in Kokernag and minus 11 degrees celsius in Konibal. 

Meanwhile, temperatures recorded in Kupwara was minus 3.8 degrees celsius and minus 11 degrees Celsius in Leh. (KNB)
