Shopian 10 May(KNB): A civilian who was injured in Shopian Encounter Succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
According to officials, a civilian identified as Shahid Gani Dar Son of Abdul Gani Dar of Pandoshan Shopian has breathed his last at 92 base hospital.
Earlier, two civilians and a soldier were injured in the initial exchange of fire. However, trio were airlifted to 93 base hospital Srinagar where on of the civilian succumbed to his injuries, while another civilian Shoib Ahmad Mantoo and a soldier Sanjeev Das is said to be stable.
“Operation has been called off as the militants managed to flee during initial stage of gunfight,” said a official.(KNB)
