Budgam resident protest against PDD, Demands Receving station

Budgam 04 Jan (KNB): The residents of the pahroo village in the central Kashmir,s Budgam district six kilometers away from the Srinagar city held a protest against the power Grid Corporation of India ( PGCOI) demanding the installation of the receiving station in the village
People alleged that power grid corporation of India had promised the farmers job compensation besides cash for providing the land for the 400/220 KV grid station and transmission line at Pahroo, Wagoora but the promise of job compensation are yet to be fullfilled .
” In 2013 the said authorities provided the solar lights to locality under CSR fundings ,on which the residents appealed the DGM for the installation of the receiving station. The said DGM assured them of installation of receiving in the area ”
They appealed the authorities to fulfill their promise .
” From last yearsThe transmission line of the grid station has affected the farmers as the land and orchards come under transmission line , though they provided the compensation for land under poles and tower base of line ,,
” we have provided them our property at peanut price , we have no benefit of grid and demand for a separate receiving station to end the power crisis in locality ,, Bashir Ahmad Dev a local said

The compensation towards ‘damages’ during implementation of such projects is governed under section 67 and 68 of the Electricity act . (KNB)
