Brown sugar worth Rs 70 Cr recovered in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, 2 arrested: Police

SRINAGAR || The Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday recovered 19 kilograms of brown sugar worth Rs 70 Crores in international market from Kralpora area of northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district and detained two peddlers, both residents of Karnah.

_Addressing a press conference, SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the the consignments were transported from across the Line of Control._

The SSP said that acting of specific inputs the police had set up a naka checking in Kralpora area.

“Two persons driving traveling in a vehicle bearing registration number, JK01R-4584 were apprehended at the naka checking point after the narcotics were found in their posession,” he said.

He said that a case with FIR Number, 2/2019, has been registered and further investigation is on.
