Boys, Girls Participate in Inter School/Zonal Level Competitions In Cricket, Volleyball, KhoKho, Kabaddi

Srinagar 10 September (KNB): On the directions of the Principal Secretary and Director of the Department Of Youth Services and Sports J&K, sports activities are taking place in every nook and corner of the UT. 

A handout issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that final competitions of Inter school Boys U/14 & U/17 years of Cricket in Beerwah zone of District Budgam concluded on Friday. In the final competitions of U/14 yrs MS Kanigund defeated GMS Kandoora and in the U/17 years age group SAMIE Beerwah remained winner by defeating HS Gondipora.  

It further said that Principal DIET Beerwah Bashir Ahmad graced the concluding function of the tournament as chief guest. After giving away trophies and mementos to the deserving players, he encouraged the budding talent with the words of apperception. 

He stressed upon the field staff of the Department of Youth Services and Sports to involve more and more youngsters in the activities of play so that future of this heavenly place can be safeguarded from the social evils especially the menace of drug abuse.

Similarly in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, zonal level Inter School competitions in Volleyball, Kho-Kho & Kabaddi for Girls of all age groups were inaugurated at HSS Chowgam. District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kulgam Gh Hassan Lone, Principal of the Higher Secondary Institution Nisar Ahmad Baba, Zonal Physical Education Officer Devsar Mohd Akram Teli and many sports lovers and spectators were present on this occasion, the handout reads. 

It added that more than 300 boys and girls are taking part in the mega tournament. Adequate arrangements have been made to conduct the tourney in the most smooth manner. (KNB)
