Srinagar 21 November (KNB): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi says that Waqf Board is corrupt to the core and no place are left untouched by the corrupt hands of the board in Kashmir.
While speaking to Kashmir News Bureau at Balhama, She said, “Since I’ve been a part of the board, I’ve seen a lot of corruption take places. I will make sure that all of those people, who have done corruption, will not get away with it.”
Chairperson of Central Waqf Development Committee said, “The corruption is everywhere, Mosques, graveyards, shrines, etc. no place has been left. I am a part of the board, I request the government of India to create a separate Waqf board for the Shia community.”
Regarding the ceasefire violations at LOC, she said that it’s an outcome of the actions done by Pakistan.
“If the Government of Pakistan really cared about the people of Jammu and Kashmir, they wouldn’t start the shelling. If they really loved us, they wouldn’t have given arms in the hands of the people of Kashmir. “
She added, “they just want to occupy the land here and that’s the reason they start these shelling/bombings and in return India fights them back.
About the promise made by the Home Minister regarding giving back the status of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leader said, “ It’s the promise of the Home Minister Amit Shah and surely the status of statehood will be restored. The promise won’t be broken and hopefully the same will be assured to the people soon.”
Being questioned about the promises of development after the abrogation of Article 370, Andrabi said, “After the decision was taken by the Center, we (BJP) had stepped up the pace of development in the valley but unfortunately coronavirus halted our plans. Our country managed to take control over the pandemic situation better than any other nation around the world. Our Prime Minister ensured that needy get the food and other necessary items.”
“All that has been achieved by our party around the nation and wouldn’t have been possible if any other party was ruling,” she added.
With reference to the development in J&K she said, “For past 70 years a lot money has been provided to the regional parties in J&K to ensure development but have we seen any development take place? No!”
She added, “They have always used us (People of Kashmir) for their benefits.”
Lashing out at People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) Andrabi said, “ All those parties like National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Awami National Conference (ANC), Peoples Conference (PC), etc. for years have done things for themselves and their families.”
“Kashmiri’s are still in the same condition as we were 70 years ago,” she added.
When asked about the upcoming DDC elections Andrabi said that Indra Gandhi introduced DDC years ago but these parties never introduced it to the people of Kashmir because if they did, their lockers couldn’t have been filled with money.
She further said that DDC election is an opportunity for the people of Kashmir to trust us (BJP) and not them again, cause these parties and their members will do the same thing as they have been doing for all these years.
While being asked about the issue of Internet in the valley, she said, “ The issue is dependent on the situation in Kashmir. 2G as well as 4G is very important for the people of JK but there are certain hurdles in the path which doesn’t allow 4G to be activated yet. (KNB)
