BJP worker’s house attacked; PSO succumbs to injuries, one attacker dead

Ganderbal, 06 October (KNB): An unidentified militant was killed during an attack on the house of a BJP worker in Nunar area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, police said.

Kashmir Police tweeted that militants fired at one of the BJP worker’s house. “He is safe however, his one PSO sustained injuries in the incident. One unidentified militant killed in PSO’s retaliation.”

The militants attacked the house of a district Vice President of BJP, Ghulam Qadir but PSO’s retaliation resulted in the killing of one militant while exchanging fire.

Later, the official said that PSO Muhammad Altaf who sustained injuries in the attack passed away. Khalil Poswal (S.S.P Ganderbal district) tweeted, “Unfortunately our Police constable Mohd Altaf who was injured has achieved martyrdom”.

BJP spokesperson (J&K) Altaf Thakur took to his facebook account condemning the attack on BJP’s district Vice President for Ganderbal.

He said that attacks on BJP workers would not deter their resolve to work for the welfare of people.

“The PSO of Qadir has shown great courage, his face will be remembered for times to come. May god bless him with Jannah. I express my condolences to the family of slain PSO,” the post stated.

Meanwhile, officials said that entire area has been sealed to nab rest of the attackers. Four PSO’s have been deployed for Ghulam Qadir’s security.(KNB)
