Srinagar, Sep 24 (KNB): Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday said the government will ensure the appointment of BDS doctors in government departments in a phased manner.
Replying to a query in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Itoo said no appointments of BDS doctors had been made in government departments since 2008. She said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s direction after the formation of the government was to examine the issue and explore avenues for providing employment to BDS doctors.
Acknowledging that a large number of BDS-qualified youth remain unemployed, the minister said the government is making efforts to ensure their appointments in government departments in a phased manner.
She assured BDS-qualified doctors that their appointments would be made a reality in the coming period.(KNB)
