Bandipora 23 December (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir’s National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party won 4 seats and 2 seats in the District Development Council elections in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
As per figures available to Kashmir News Bureau, J&K NC’s candidate Meewa Jan obtained 2841 votes, securing the win in Aloosa constituency, Tasleema Begum with 1266 votes won the constituency of Gurez, Abdul Gani Bhat with 2961 votes won the Naidkhai constituency and Gh Nabi with 1399 votes won the Sumbal constituency of the district.
While as PDP’s Kaunsar Shafeeq with 3284 votes, won the Bandipora (B) constituency and Ab Gani Wani with 2206 votes secured the victory in Bonakoot constituency of the district.
Among the other parties, JK Apni Party’s Firdousa Akhtar with 2850 won the Bandipora (A) constituency, JK Peoples Movement’s Gh Mustafa earning 3887 won the Hajin (B), Indian National Conference’s Farzil Ahmad Dar with 2610 votes won the Hajin (C) constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ajaz Ahmad Khan earning 2523 votes, won the Tulail constituency of the district.
Among the independent candidates contesting the DDC elections in Bandipora district, Gh. Mohidin Rather with 1917 votes won the Arin constituency, Mohd Tahir Qadri earning 2309 votes, won the Ganastan constituency and Farwa Ibrahim with 3591 votes secured the seat of Nowgam constituency.
Important to mention that counting of votes in ‘Hajin A’ DDC constituency of Bandipora district, has been deferred by Election Commission of India. (KNB)
