Ban imposed over import, inter-district movement of bovines in J&K due to LSD Outbreak

Srinagar, Sept 22 (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir LG led government administration on Thursday imposed a complete ban on import of bovine animals from neighboring states and inter-district movement of bovines within the UT of JK for any purpose, till October 25.

As per the order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), the ban has been imposed in the wake of spread of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in J&K and some other states of the country.

The order states that the ban has been imposed under Section 10 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases Act, 2009.

The order also stated that the decision will be reviewed on the basis of evolving situation—(KNB)
