ATM Theft Case Solved by Srinagar Police, Rs 8,90,600 Recovered From Accused

Srinagar 18 December (KNB): Srinagar Police under the supervision of SP West Mr Shahzad Salaria along with the team of West Zone Police solved the Khumani Chowk ATM theft case of rupees 9,06,400/- (Rupees Nine Lakh Six Thousand and Four Hundred only), which was stolen by the bank guard, Javaid Ahmad Malla from Khumani Chowk Bemina Srinagar.

As per the statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau, on the basis of the written complaint of the Manager a Case FIR No. 258/2020 U/S 380 IPC was registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation was taken up. During the course of Investigation, the scene of crime was minutely examined, it was found that ATM Machine was locked as usual without any mark of damage to it. Then in the preliminary investigation, it surfaced that cash of the ATM Machine was stolen by using the code of the machine, which raised suspicion that the theft has been carried out by the person having knowledge of the affairs of the bank code and other procedure related to opening and closing of ATM.

The statement further read that the all suspected person was thoroughly investigated by the police and finally Javaid Ahmad Malla, working as a bank security guard in the said bank, was zeroed down in the whole process. The said person was questioned by the police and later confessed his committing of a crime.

However, a cash of Rs 8,90,600/- ( Eight Lakh Ninety Thousand and Six Hundred Only) was recovered from the attic of the bank building and the person was later arrested by the police.

Pertinently, the case was solved by SP West Mr Shahzad Salaria along with the team of West Zone Police Police comprising of ESU West, SDPO West Shri Muzaffer Jan, SHO Police Station Parimpora Inspector Zaffer Iqbal and DO Bemina SI Sheikh Aadil who played a vital role during the investigation of the case.
