As MeT Prediction Holds Good, It Warns of Flash Floods, Landslides, Water Logging in J&K Parts

Srinagar 28 July (KNB): As Meteorological department’s already prediction holds good, it said on Wednesday in its weather advisory that there might be flash floods, landslides and water logging in low lying areas of J&K parts. 

The weather officials in its latest weather update said that till 30th of this month there is going to be intermittent rainfall in J&K.  Besides rain, the official warned of flash floods, mudslides, landslides and water logging in some parts of J&K. 

“At present, it’s cloudy at most places of JK with thunderstorms and rain  at some places of Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi and nearby areas. Widespread intermittent Rain most likely to continue till 30th. Heavy to Very Rain is also possible at some places,” said MeT Kashmir in its advisory. 

It further cautioned people to not venture out on hilly and landslide prone areas and advised to be alert as water levels have risen in all rivers of J&K. 

Pertinent to mention that yesterday the MeT had already predicted good monsoon showers to occur in J&K from today to 30th July. (KNB)
