Army Rescue Two Drivers near Zojila pass

Two Non Local truck drivers were rescued by Army near Zojila pass on Srinagar-Leh highway.

According to army official, a Joint rescue operation was launched after a clear change in weather on 5 November.

“The specialist team from HAWS was dropped approx 5km from zero point and moved through inclement weather conditions  like snowfall and avalanche through slopes,  to close in with the stranded truckers.” He added

The truck drivers were identified as Shamsher Singh son of Karnail Singh a resident of Udhampur (JK0AJ-6732) and Ajit Singh (JK02AJ-5185)

This operation was headed  by a specialist rescue team of India  army ( High Altitude Walfare School ) Subedar Rakesh Kumar and harvinder kheen Singh.(KNB)
