Kupwara 04 Feb(KNB): The army rescued a pregnant woman stranded in Vilgam Kupwara after received distress call from SHO Vilgam and her husband Mushtaq Ahmad Gagi during heavy snowfall.
The woman, identified as Safoora Begum, found herself in a precarious situation as heavy snowfall blanketed the area, making travel nearly impossible.
Army of Vilgam camp immediately responded to distress call and reached the location by risking their life by hiking for 7-8 kms in 2 to 3 feet of snow in the middle of night.
Subsequently, they safely evacuated the pregnant woman to PHC Vilgam where she received medical attention.(KNB)
