Army organises musical concert, Awareness camp in Machil Sector

Kupwara 10 Oct: Indian Army organized an awareness campaign through musical concert for residents of Machhal Sector with prime focus on women empowerment.

Machhal is a remote area in the Northern part of Kupwara district which is under developed with very low literacy rate. Women in this region are generally homemakers or they engage in agriculture and animal husbandry. The objective of this event is to enlighten and acquaint them with the transformations made by the women around the globe. The event was conducted by ‘Meri Zindagi’ India’s First Female Mission Rock Band.

During this event, the members of ‘Meri Zindagi’ Female Mission Rock Band visited the villages of Macchal Sector to interact with ladies and young girls to provide awareness on education, menstrual hygiene, fundamental rights, self-dependency, employment, advantages and methods to control population, traditional/conservative society v/s modern way of life which will eventually help the females to get educated regarding their significance and contribution for the upliftment of the society.

The band performed musical concerts at villages and through this medium they interacted with female audience for overall proliferation of their agenda of women empowerment and ‘’Nari Shakti’’ as music is one of the best and peaceful ways of communicating.

‘Meri Zindagi’ Female Mission Rock Band is India’s First Female Mission Rock Band originated in 2010 and is continuously working for welfare, awareness and upliftment of females in the society with its unique and self-created music.

The band is appreciated and acknowledged for its work by Honourable Defense Minister, Health Minister, women & Child Development Ministry and media houses like History TV18 (OMG! Yeh Mera India), BBC Hindi, BBC London, Morning Post China, BBC Media Action, Doordarshan, News 18, Zee News etc.
