All schools, collages, higher institutions will continue to remain close till 31st October

Srinagar 08 October (KNB): As per the fresh orders from the government of Jammu and Kashmir (UT), all the schools, colleges, higher institutions (including Anganwadi centers) except training institutions run by the Central/State government, will continue to remain closed till 31st October 2020.

It stated that online/distance learning shall be permitted, 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be permitted to be called to schools for online teaching/tele-counseling and related work (in the areas outside containment zones only), as well as students of classes 9 to 12 are permitted to visit their schools (in areas outside the Containment Zones only) on voluntary basis.

Higher Education Institutions will be permitted only for research scholars (Ph.D.) and PG students in Science and technical streams requiring lab/experimental works. Allowing only 50% capacity of coaching centers/institutions shall be permitted to run classes (outside the containment zones) from 15th October, the order read.

More importantly, about the movement of individuals for all non-essential activities between 10pm to 5am, District Magistrates shall issue specific prohibitory orders in the regard under Section of 144 of CrPC, the order read. Adding that no Deputy Commissioner or any subordinate Magistrate shall impose any local lockdown, outside notified containment zones, without prior consultation with the State Executive Committee, which shall if required convey its decision only after consulting MHA, Govt. of India.
