Srinagar, August 3(KNB): A full-day programme of Marsiya Khwani was held today at Kawpora, Sumbal, Bandipora, culminating in a spiritually uplifting Majlis-e-Aza attended by a large gathering of mourners from across the region.
The Majlis was addressed by All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA) President Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, who spoke on the unparalleled personality and virtues of Ameer-ul-Momineen, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS). He described Imam Ali (AS) as the perfect embodiment of justice, wisdom, piety and courage, stating that his life remains a timeless guide for humanity. He urged believers to uphold the values of truth, compassion, patience and service to mankind, which formed the foundation of Imam Ali’s (AS) blessed life and teachings.
Molvi Imran Reza Ansari further delivered a moving address on the Safar of Syeda Bibi Zainab (SA) after the tragedy of Karbala. He highlighted the immense sacrifices, patience and unwavering resolve of the beloved granddaughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HP), who carried forward the mission of Imam Hussain (AS) despite enduring captivity, grief and unimaginable hardships. He said that through her eloquence and steadfastness in the courts of Kufa and Damascus, Bibi Zainab (SA) ensured that the message of Karbala remained alive for generations, transforming sacrifice into an everlasting movement of justice, dignity and resistance against oppression.
The Majlis was also attended by AJKSA General Secretary Abid Ansari, alongside religious scholars, community leaders and hundreds of mourners, who participated with devotion in the remembrance of the Ahlul Bayt (AS).
The programme concluded with heartfelt prayers for the unity, dignity and well-being of Muslims across the world, particularly for the oppressed people of Palestine and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Special prayers were offered for the acceptance of the sacrifices of all martyrs who laid down their lives in the path of Islam, with a tribute paid to Shaheed Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. The gathering also prayed for lasting peace, justice and prosperity for the people of Jammu & Kashmir and for the entire Ummah.(KNB)
