Air Traffic Halts at Srinagar Airport After Snowfall

Srinagar 23 January (KNB): The air traffic has been temporarily suspended at the Srinagar International Airport after the inclement weather conditions in Kashmir valley from Saturday morning. 

Following the snowfall in Kashmir since morning, which was predicted by the MeT department, the air traffic at Srinagar’s Airport was halted due to snow accumulation on the runway.

As per officials, not a single flight operated from the Srinagar Airport on Saturday morning due to the snowfall and several flights scheduled to leave from the Airport were delayed. 

However, the summer capital Srinagar’s temperature was recorded at -2.0° C on Friday night, helping to relieve the cold after Thursday night’s mercury settling at -6.1° C. 

While, the temperature rose across Kashmir valley last night during which Pahalgam recorded -1.3°C, Qazigund -4.0°C, Kokernag -4.5°C, Kupwara -0.4°C, Gulmarg -4.8°C, Leh -6.1°C (KNB).
