AIP Anguish over Disengagement of ICDS Helpers

Srinagar 11 September (KNB): Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) in a statement issued Saturday expressed its anger over disengagement of ICDS helpers.

The party spokesperson Firdous Baba said. “Snatching the employment of over 918 helpers to supervisors in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme of the Social Welfare Department is an anti people decision, as instead of providing employment, the current government is snatching the livelihood of those who have been serving the government for years together.”

These employees are the people who are really performing their duties at ground and are responsible for making numerous government schemes at door steps, be providing vaccination to the people of far flung areas or educating the downtrodden women folk about their rights and making them aware about the beneficial schemes of the government.

Firdous said when there is already a rising graph of unemployment levels rising in Jammu and Kashmir as educated youth struggle lack of job-creation policy, there is no justification for making such a big number unemployed.

The government claims that jobs and prosperity to the region is its core agenda The reality is altogether different on ground.

Spokesperson further said the Party urges the LG government to revoke the order immediately so that the future of hundreds of the families is secured. (KNB)
