After Clearance of Debris, Vehicles Stranded Between Nashree-Banihal Shall be Allowed to Move: JK Traffic Police

Srinagar 25 March (KNB): As the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway-44 remains closed for vehicular movement, J&K Traffic police in it’s Traffic Advisory on Thursday said that subject to clearance of debris, stranded vehicles between Nashree and Banihal shall be allowed towards their destination.

As per the traffic advisory, tomorrow (26th of March) no vehicular movement will be allowed on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side, in view of maintenance and repairing of it.

Moreover, officials informed that due to snow accumulation, Mughal road is blocked and SSG road remains closed as ordered by the J&K Govt. vide DIVCOM Kashmir’s order No 400/2020 on 30th of December last year.

Furthermore, officials advised people to undertake journey on NHW-44 only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units.

Pertinent to mention that traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW was barred due to landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at several places along the only road connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world. (KNB)
