Abducted Girl Traced by Srinagar Police, Accused Arrested

Srinagar 27 January (KNB): Police on Thursday said that they have traced a girl who was abducted on 14 January after leaving her home in Srinagar’s Danihama area to purchase some things.

An official said that the Police Station Zakura received a written complaint from a person (name withheld), a resident of Danihama, Srinagar that his sister (name withheld) aged about 20 years went to shop to purchase some domestic items but did not return back. 

Later, in this regard a missing report was written and subsequently working upon the collected evidence, police said, it was learnt that the missing girl was abducted by a person named Mohd Sahil Kumar, a resident of Rawalpora, Srinagar.

Police also said that a Case FIR No. 09/22 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Zakoora and investigation started.

During the course of the investigation, after the strenuous efforts of police and with the help of technical and physical evidence, the abducted girl was recovered from the possession of the accused. 

They further said that after completing medico-legal formalities, the abducted girl was handed over to her legal heirs. (KNB)
