Srinagar, August 30 (KNB): As part of its ongoing civic action initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna, the Indian Army organised a specialised Dental and ENT Medical Camp at Twin Bridge-Chaukas on August 29, benefiting more than 200 residents from remote and border villages.
The camp was organised by 14 JAK RIF under the aegis of Kalapahar Brigade, Dagger Division, with specialist support from 419 Field Hospital. Essential medical logistics and medicines were provided to ensure free treatment and consultations for the local populace.
During the camp, medical teams conducted clinical examinations, consultations and provided essential medicines, with special focus on ENT ailments, dental and oral health, preventive care and health awareness.
According to the Army, 49 dental procedures and consultations were carried out, while 150-plus ENT and general consultations were provided during the outreach programme.
Residents from underserved border villages including Urusa, Chakra, Isham, Golta, Nawa, Runda and Dardkot participated in the camp and availed themselves of the medical services.
The medical team also conducted awareness sessions on personal hygiene, seasonal infections, sanitation and the importance of seeking timely medical care. Patients requiring advanced treatment were counselled and guided for further consultation at higher medical centres.
The initiative received a positive response from the local community, with villagers expressing appreciation for the Army’s efforts to make specialised healthcare accessible to people living in remote and geographically challenging areas.
The Army said such initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna are aimed at strengthening its bond with the local populace while contributing to community welfare and improving access to essential services.(KNB)
