Srinagar, May 7 (KNB): Authorities at Amar Singh College on Wednesday relieved the Head of the Department (HoD) of Media Studies from all academic affairs following protests by students over alleged harassment of a female student.
According to an official order issued by the college administration, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad Lone, HoD Department of Media Studies, has been disassociated from all academic activities of the department with immediate effect pending the outcome of an inquiry.
The order stated that the decision was taken in response to a demonstration held by students regarding the alleged harassment incident.“The Proctorial Board has been entrusted with conducting a transparent and time-bound inquiry into the matter and shall submit its report within two days,” the order reads.
Meanwhile, Prof. Nusrat Sayeed has been assigned to look after the affairs of the Department of Media Studies till the completion of the investigation. (KNB)
