Srinagar, Nov 2(KNB): Nine-year-old Maham Khan from Qamarwari, Srinagar, became a symbol of determination and youthful energy after successfully completing a half marathon in the city, inspired and motivated by officers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Officials said that CRPF personnel, including a DIG Sudhir Kumar and a lady Commandant, personally kept a close watch on Maham’s progress throughout the event and encouraged her silently to accomplish the feat. Their subtle support and guidance helped the young participant maintain her pace and confidence till the finish line.

Described as an emerging icon for other children of Jammu and Kashmir, Maham’s achievement has drawn admiration from both the security forces and the local community. “She has immense potential to go ahead and make Jammu and Kashmir proud,” said an official.

Her father, residents said, has been a constant source of encouragement, nurturing her enthusiasm for fitness and sports from an early age.

The CRPF’s involvement in such community-oriented activities, particularly those promoting youth participation and empowerment, reflects the force’s ongoing efforts to build positive engagement with local residents.
