Srinagar 06 August (KNB): In Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid congregational Friday prayers were held today after its closure of around 16 months due to the Covid19.
In the congregational Friday prayer, scores of worshippers came to the Jamia Masjid after a long period of gap and went into a prostration before Allah.
“I am feeling very happy after taking part in the Friday prayer today. The people should follow SOPs so that there would not be any problem regarding the keeping of a mosque open in the future,” said a local.
The Friday prayer was completed amid proper adherence to the Covid19 SOPs and worshippers also kept gaps between each other during the prayer.
On loudspeakers also the worshippers were being reminded to not lose sight of Covid SOPs.
However, it was the Anjuman Auqaf’s decision of late to resume Friday prayers after decrease in the cases of Covid19. Furthermore, the prayers went smoothly without any hitch. (KNB)
