Minor Landslide In Kangan Comes After MeT’s Warning For Same

Srinagar 12 March (KNB): After the MeT issued the warning of likely landslides in the valley following the incessant rains, the landslide incident was reported from Kangan’s Kunmulla Pairun area this morning with no loss of life said.

The landslide incident came after the MeT’s warning on Friday via official communique, which said that the alert for landslides and avalanche remains in vulnerable spots as land is fully saturated.

A video doing rounds on social media shows the portion of land on a hilly site sliding with roof tin erected on its extreme also falling down.

Regarding the weather, officials said that rainfall would likely remain throughout the day on March 12 and expected widespread moderate and heavy snow/rainfall at isolated places in the valley.

However, the MeT official had already announced that the weather would remain erratic till 15 of this month, and the current inclement weather has been predicted to improve from this evening. (KNB)
