Anantnag 24 February (KNB): Two militants killed in an encounter which started in a forest area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Officials said that two unidentified militants have been killed in the gun-battle, which started in the morning in Shalgul forest area of Srigufwara Anantnag.
Earlier, Team of Police, Army’s 3RR and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation in Shalgul forest area, during which hiding militants opened fire upon the security personnels, officials said, adding that the forces retaliated with the same response which triggered off the gun-battle.
Moreover, officials said that the search operation in the forest is still going on. (KNB)
