Srinagar 06 February (KNB): Paramedical students on Saturday staged a protest at the Press Enclave against the concerned authorities, demanding to conduct their examinations which were scheduled to be taken on 17 January of this year.
The protesting students said that some of their batch mates had demanded earlier for the online examination to which they (protesting students) were against from the beginning and has now become an impediment on their way to get exams done.
They raised slogans — “We Are Ready, Conduct Our Exams” “Don’t Spoil Our Future”.
During the protest, the students were carrying placards that read “Kindly Conduct Our Exams”, “How The Signs of Only 253 Students Will Decide The Fate of 13000 Paramedical students.”
“Our exams were going to start from January 17, which would have concluded yesterday, but some of the students had protested to conduct their exams online or give them mass promotion. We want that we should be excluded from those cases and our exams should be conducted as soon as possible,” said a female protesting student.
Students said they belong to the 2018 batch and their second-year examination was not conducted yet. “Our future looks bleak, and we want the authorities to look into the matter and resolve it. We were looking for our practical classes in the time ahead, which seems impossible as our current exams are not being taken,” a student alleged
However, a protesting student alleged that GMC authorities told them to withdraw the case they were not part of. “We want GMC to take our supplementary exams, and the students who are willing will give the exams,” a student added. (KNB)
