Srinagar 12 February (KNB): An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 jolted the Kashmir on Friday around 22:34:40 IST with its epicentre in Tajikistan.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake’s depth was 74 km which hit late evening on Friday. The strong tremors were felt in Kashmir and some minor ones in north India. Pertinently, the epicentre of the earthquake was Tajikistan, not the Amritsar Punjab, which was earlier misinformed.
However, no casualty was reported from anywhere while the houses have suffered minor damages in some parts of Kashmir. (KNB)
