Srinagar 4 August (KNB): India reported 42,625 new novel coronavirus cases and 562 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, 36,668 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours and the total recoveries across the country has reached 3,09,33,022 so far, where as the recovery rate currently stands at 97.37 per cent.
India’s active caseload currently stands at 4,10,353 and the active cases constitute 1.29 per cent of total cases. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently stands at 2.36 per cent, the Health Ministry said, adding that the daily positivity rate stands at 2.31 per cent, which remains below 5 per cent.
Moreover, the MoHFW informed that more than 50.37 crore (50,37,22,630) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 49,19,780 doses are in the pipeline.
“Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 48,19,75,798 doses (as per data available at 8 AM today),” they added.
As per the Health Ministry, more than 2.60 Cr (2,60,17,573) balance and unutilized Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered.
The testing capacity has substantially ramped up and a total of 47.31 crore tests have been conducted so far, the Health Ministry said. (KNB)
